She is SoOOoOoOoo BIG!

Today we had Hannahs 2 month appointment. For those of you looking at your calenders, yes, she will be 3 months in a few days... Don't judge, remember? It has been a REALLY crazy month so... there you go! So - here is the latest on the newest Thom.
She is HUGE! 25 inches - 95th percentile
13.1 lbs - 75th percentile

After our two string beans who were 115% for height at 2 months and only 5% for weight... she is a novelty! I love it! I feel like such a good Mom. No one has EVER asked me, "do you feed her?", or said"Wow, I have never seen such a long skinny baby". All I hear with Hannah is, "She is so beautiful", "She has such pretty blue eyes", and finally the one that is music to my ears, "Oh, what a chunky baby!"

I will add a picture to this post soon! She really is adorable, especially since she has started smiling and laughing. Oh it warms my whole heart and soul.

Oh - and by the way, when the Dr asked how she was sleeping and I said she sleeps from about 8:30 at night to 7:30 - 8:00 in the morning she was shocked! She said of all of her patients I have always had the best sleepers! Yeah for me!
Also, she has a heart murmur but the Dr wasn't too concerned, she said we will just keep an eye on it!
All in all, it was a great checkup! We sure our grateful for our Hannah Baby!

so sweaty

After running today I was stretching in the living room sweating like a pig and wondering ,"why am I doing this again?". Russell walks over and pats me on the head and says, "I so proud, you did such a great job."

Now I remember, thats why! I want to be strong and healthy for him and his 2 sisters and all the others that will come along

It sure does get a little boring though, on the treadmill in the garage, staring at the freezer and counting steps or singing Beatles songs in my head...

So, what do you do when your legs just want to stop and you really can't think of a reason to keep running????

guys never listen

Yesterday as I am cleaning out the fridge I hear Emma talking quite animatedly to Russell. I paused to try to hear what she was saying. "So you see, in the old days ALL girls wore dresses every day, not just Princesses". I started to walk over to them to hear the conversation better and caught a glimpse of Russell who was absolutly enraptured - with picking his belly button. He was totally oblivious to the fact that Emma was talking and she was totally oblivious to the fact that he wasn't listening.
I guess it starts young.
I had to go duck my head back into the fridge so they couldn't hear me laughing.
Emma: Mom can you help me find my Princess watch, it is lost
Me: Ya, just give me a second and we will find it
Russell: Can you help me find my Tractor watch too?
Me: Russ, you don't have a Tractor watch
Russell: Oh- ... Well I guess you need to buy me one!

How is that for a hint? Well, they don't have those on Russell favorite site "Green Crazy" but they do have these....
Russ wants them for his B-day

No - I am not kidding about the Barbie. He likes to play Barbies with his Sis so, I guess he thinks this one is made just for him:)
I can hardly wait to meet his future wife....
And no, by the way, he is not getting either of these things. :) We love him but we are not taking out a second mortgage for a birthday:)!

Monsters

Ok - to preface his next post - I SWEAR I will get pics on here on Hannahs Blessing really soon and also of DEREK!!!! My little bro came home from his mission yesterday!!! Sooooo exciting! We are loving hearing all his stories and getting to know him again!
Meanwhile.... Russell a few months ago decided he was scared of monsters. We aren't sure how it started but he would freak out at bedtime and sometimes wake up in the night and have a rough time getting back to sleep. So - here is what I did, it may help one of you if a kid has a similar problem. I bought some "monster poison" that we spray in the room before bedtime on nights when he is worried about nighttime visitors. The monster poison does not require any internet searches for some obscure thing - its just Oust! It has worked wonders in our house - I hope it will help one of you!

Dishwashers

I don’t want to think I am going crazy, but after a week of looking for some of my dishes I thought maybe I was! I didn’t want to ask my husband if he knew where they were because I was sure he would say, “we have never had such dishes” and check me into a Psyche ward for hallucinations. Perfect plan to get rid of your crazy wife, right? I have looked all over the house for these dishes. My pretty snowman plates, the kids favorite Shreck plates, forks, knives, where oh where could they be????
Finally last night I took the plunge - “Jonathan, where are all of the dishes, we have a lot missing.”
“They are in the dishwasher”
“Where?”
“The Dishwasher”
Oh, the dishwasher. I am so embarrassed… just because we have not used it for over a year…. I seem to remember somewhere in the back of my mind that Jonathan was on the floor the other night trying to fix it. Dishwashers, such silly things. I always fill up a steaming hot sink of bubbly water and wash all of the dishes, rinse them, and then put them in the dishwasher. Obsessive compulsive? Absolutely! Will I always do it that way? Probably. My Mom and Mother in law do so I guess it is engrained in us. But for the past…? I don’t know how long we haven’t used the “Sanitizer”(dishwasher) because we would put our dishes in clean and I would open it hoping to see gleaming dishes ready to be put away only to see dishes that were DIRTY! I would rewash them and THEN put them away.
So, here I am today, a little apprehensive about opening the dishwasher door. I know the dishes were clean when they went in there (how long ago???) . I Prepare myself to wash a dishwasher full of dishes. I open the door and - ooh joy ****GLEAMING DISHES**** . Thank you dear Jonathan. I am so happy to have my dish sanitizer back. Now I just have to remember that I have it…

Glad to start a new week!

This past week has certainly been full! My two older kids have double ear infections, I have been pretty bad because of the storm that came in this morning, and Today was Hannah’s blessing! It was beautiful and we are so grateful to all of the family that was able to be here for that. We feel so incredibly blessed to have her in our family. I will post pictures soon! She looked so pretty!
I left after Sacrament with Hannah because I was in a lot of pain and needed rest. Well, I got in an accident on the way home from church so, so much for the rest! It wasn’t anything serious although we are very very blessed because it could have been horrible. The roads were awful so I was going really slow but I hit a patch of ice or a bump or something and the car went out of control. I tried everything I could but was all over the road before I finally landed in a ditch stuck in a fence. (I really hate minivans - NOOO control)
We truly were so blessed - there were no other cars on the road at the moment so we didn’t have a collision. Someone stopped with a cell phone (after 15 min) so my Dad could come get me out. We had no injuries and the damage to the car was relatively minimal. I was pretty shaken up though and it was funny cause not a full minute after the wreck the cd I was listening to went to a song that said, “things are not as bad as what they seem right now”. That certainly helped me to put everything into perspective. We were safe in a warm car and had food and water (keep in mind I was down there for a lot of time waving my arms for someone to help and people kept looking at me and driving by…). I am also sooo grateful that the other two kids weren’t in the car because I am sure their screaming would have disturbed me and I wouldn’t have been able to think so clearly or react well enough to get us into as little damage as possible. The officer thankfully did not cite me - just gave me an accident report. He said the road are too bad and that usually he will cite for failure to control the vehicle but that I had done a good job, and not to worry - it happens ALL the time.
All in all there has been a lot of perspective gained this past week (see previous post) and a ton of gratitude for a gracious Father in Heaven who has many times held me in His hands and saved me. I wish I could express how grateful I truly am that we are all here tonight safe in our warm home.
**** On a funny note - the police officer was trying to make sure I was ok and noticed my hand and said, “Are you sure you are ok, what about your hand?” I assured him I was ok and that I had been paralysed 10 years earlier. He felt pretty bad about mentioning it although I am not sure why.
I hope that you all are safe in your travels with this terrible weather!

Tom

This is one of those times I really wish I was an eloquent writer. Our good friend and neighbor Tom passed away yesterday after a terrible battle with cancer. He will be greatly missed. He was such a good friend to Jonathan and we all loved him.
This past week has certainly been one of reflection. I have thought much on my testimony of Christ and how grateful I am for Him and his example and sacrifice for us. I have thought alot about what I have accomplished in my life and how much more I really should be doing. I have also spent quite a bit of time thinking about my childrens lives and wondering how I can help to prepare them for all that life holds in store for them.
I am so grateful for the lives of those who have gone before and for all they have taught me and the marks they have left on us all. I am also so grateful to know that this life is not the end and that the best is yet to come!
