Christmas night!

Ok - so, obviously I forgot to take many pictures of the dinner or the family there - sorry! But it was fun and yummy.

Probably my favorite part of the day came when we came home! We got all ready for bed and Jonathan bore the kids his testimony of The Savior and His birth, life, and ministry. It was beautiful and ended the day off on such a beautiful spiritual note. This Christmas was different in many ways, and I think the fact that we really slowed down, didn't stress about too much, and focused on Our Savior made it one of the most memorable Christmas's we have ever had!

Christmas!!!

We had a little different Christmas at our house, as many people did! It was actually on e of the best I can remember. We didn't have much money for gifts, but we got the kids a few fun things at the dollar store and they had presents from their cousins! They got enough that they were entertained and sooo happy!

Grandma and Grandpa showed up for Christmas morning breakfast (Chocolate Orange scones and breakfast casserole! YUM) and brought along fun presents!!

Hannah LOVES Tinkerbell!

She loved these Tink PJ's so much that she tried to pull them on over her Christmas PJ's!

Eventually we just helped her put them on too - she looks so cute and chubby! Here she is with her new doll from Grandma and Grandpa - when you turn the bottle the legs kick!

J with his new "toy" - it is our food storage gift this year! Incredibly appropriate as I have been very worried about what we would do if the power went out at our home! We have no wood stove so this will come in handy if that should happen!

We had such a fun relaxing day! We got to hang out and play and watch movies. Next up - Christmas night!

Christmas Eve

On Christmas Eve morning we got up, ate breakfast, and headed to Great Grandma/Grandpa's house!

We had a yummy and fun Christmas Eve dinner! Russ decided he wanted a leg!

We invited over Grandma and Grandpa!

My Angels

For the Christmas Program in Church this year the kids were all supposed to dress up as Mary, Joseph, a Shephard, or an angel. They were singing the Nativity song... my kids reminded me of this Sunday morning so we tore down the silvery Garland above the window and made halo's.
They all looked so precious!

The best part of this story - my kids are the ONLY ones who remembered that they were supposed to dress up! Oh well, they were sparkly all by themselves! Thank you Emma for your perfect memory! ;)

Preschool Treat

Russell had the treat for Preschool a few days before Chrisrmas break. His favorite food id homemade bread (preferably teddy bear bread) with Honey Butter.
So... we made a big 'ol teddy bear to take to Preschool. He was so excited, and really - as a Mom - is there anything better than a kid truly thrilled about something!?!?

Ward Christmas Party!

After dinner SANTA came to the ward Christmas party! Can you believe it?!?! My kids were thrilled beyond belief!

He even had a candy cane for every child! I asked the kids if that was his present so now he didn't have to come on Christmas Eve and they said, "NO." Shocking.

*And no, H did not wet herself... it is water!

Have you ever seen such pure joy and elation in your life?! What a cutie!

Recognise this guy? Yep, it is Samuel the Lamanite! Man, I had no idea Samuel was so HOT!

We had a wonderful time at the party, we were, as always, amazed at the work that goes into these parties and so truly grateful to have gotten to be a part of it!

Also, as we pause to remember the Birth of our Savior it is always interesting to learn more about that humble birth. Here is a beautiful post of things I had learned before but forgotten. I hope that it helps you to better understand the humble birth and the magnificent life that was lived by The Savior of the World.
