This conversation is part of a worldwide leadership training that was a few weeks ago for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.  I love what was said here.  So many times we take these callings for granted - a glorfied moving service or laugh at how they are not important.  I always said I didn't want to marry an Elders Quorum President because it wasn't a "real" calling - how sad I know that I said that.... So lo and behold 3 years ago my faithful hubby was called and he has done an incredible job as Elders Quorum President.  He takes his calling EXTREMLY seriously and feels the weight of it.  With the new training there are many more responsobilities for EQP's and they are supposed to serve in the calling for a longer time.  I have gained a HUGE respect for  the time and effort that go into this calling.  I didn't know when I married Jonathan that I could be more in love and more proud of him, but he daily shows me how to be more Christlike, more humble, more teachable, more hardworking, etc.  Truly the list could go on and on, I am so in love with him and so proud of all he does.  I am so glad for his teaching me by his example, an example he learned  from his Older Brother.

Elder Perry: Well, let’s try what is the role of the priesthood quorum in this rescue effort?

Elder Christofferson: Well, to me, the quorums have a central role, a leadership role. The presidents of quorums, of course, have keys. And they’re empowered with their counselors to build a quorum brotherhood and to reach out and include all the members and the families of those quorum members, whether they’re active or not, and strengthen them in the gospel covenant. Again, helping them understand how the gospel can be in their lives and assist them in overcoming their challenges.

I don’t know; to me, the rescue is really what the oath and covenant of the priesthood means. Magnifying the priesthood and the ordinances that the priesthood performs is central to that rescue. You’ve taught frequently about the role of quorums and the ward council in rescuing. Do you want to say anything about that today?

Elder Perry: Well, I love elders quorums and high priests group leaders. They lead the quorums, and those quorums need leadership. All too often we don’t give them the proper place in our congregations to understand the great leadership role they have. And I hope that we elevate an understanding of what they’re doing in bringing forward the rescue effort in our Father in Heaven’s kingdom. And I hope they have longer tenure than they currently experience today.

Elder Christofferson: I agree. I would say, by the way, what the quorums are doing really is equipping people with, again, to understand the gospel and apply the gospel in overcoming life’s challenges.

I am so excited to be caught up on blogging - I can't even say!!!  I have been really sick for about three weeks but am on the mend (HOORAY)!  I am still really tired, I can barely keep my eyes open to write this, but since I have Punjabi eggplant simmering on the stove for my lunch (ya I know it is 2...) and have to wait for that to be done I thought I would write a little bit of something that is on my mind.  I write this in hopes that SOMEONE in the universe reads my blog and has an opinion! 
Hannah just turned 4 in December.  Being a December baby I always knew put her a year behind all her friends in school.... tough.... We found out about a charter school in Flag that accept kids up to Dec 31st B-days!  I would have to drive and pick her up daily, but that is no biggie when you consider the awesomeness of starting a year early, right?  Well, H has a hard time socially.  She is like me, kind of a loner or a one friend at a time kind of gal - get her in a big group and she wilts like a flower in the fall. 
Her teacher said today that while she would do great academically she might struggle socially... but might she anyway?  I just DON'T KNOW!!!  I have worried and pondered and prayed over this for about a month so now I am putting it out there for opinions!  Please!!!  For and against and reasons please!
